The digital audio output on my Aquois Model # XXXXX does not seem to function. In my attempt to connect the Yamaha ATS1010 Sound Bar via a digital optical cable nothing happens. It seems that the cable connection to the TV is not making contact. There is no resistance indicating contact has been made, very loose.
Optional Information: Make: Sharpe Aquois Model: LC40D78UN Already Tried: I connected the sound bar to another TV and it works fine.
Hello, my name is Rusty. I can help you. This is a very unique question. I'll help you troubleshoot. We'll have to communicate back and forth a few times to figure out what the problem is. Use the "reply to expert" button to reply back to me. Please don't rate my answer until you are satisfied.First, look at the cable ends. Compare them side by side, and tell me if they are any different. Now, flip the cable around, and plug the loose TV end into the sound bar. Does it go in tight into the sound bar and still loose into the TV? Make sure the jack is going in the correct way, and not upside down. Give it a push, but don't force it.Analyze the connection on the TV and compare it to the input on the soundbar. Look for any differences in placement, or anything blocking the connection. If you find that you cannot use the port on the TV, I'm sorry. You can power the soundbar with the red/white audio outputs on the TV. This will send plenty of signal to the soundbar. Digital signal is only needed when running more than 2.1 sound. The soundbar is 2.1.Let me know if you have any questions.
