My unit keeps making a beeping noise and flashes on and off.

Customer Question

My unit keeps making a beeping noise and flashes on and off. Sometimes it beeps and I have to unplug it for it to stop. It's not the hard drive, I've unplugged it.
JA: How long has this been going on?
Customer: For a while, like a few years. We just turned it off and stopped dealing with it. It was working for about a month, then our power blinked and now it's back to making the beeping noises and will not stay on.
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: I've checked the connections. I've unplugged the hard drive. Connections are good. Beeps still happen even with hard drive disconnected.
JA: The security expert can solve this for you. Anything else you want him to know before I connect you two?
Customer: Nope
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Home-Security Technician about your situation and then connect you two.

Hi there,

What's the make and model number of your unit, please?

The beeping can indicate a faulty or missing hard drive.
Try connecting a good hard drive and that should resolve the problem.

Thanks Pete. However, I've done that before and it still doesn't rectify the problem. Any other suggestions?
