I have been getting this message (Unit 048ad5 is unregistered) and don't know how to fix it. I have been using an unsafe work around to access unit.

Are you perhaps using a Guardium system?

If so, here's the message on your error message:

One can unregister a unit from the unit, not from the Central Manager, but the Central Manager's records aren't updated properly that way, so it may throw that error message about the status of that unit.
