LOAJ3256 :

Hello - maybe I can help. If you do not have installer code and reset the panel it will DEFAULT to factory settings and all zones will be lost.

Customer :

OK and what do you mean by that?

Customer :

So i will have to go back and re-program all thoose zones and zone types

LOAJ3256 :

If you are refereing to "the reset posted" as the hard reset using a jumper to z1, then the panel will default (change back) to factory settings, and all programming will need to be done from scratch, such as zone atributes, delays, etc.

Customer :

what if they are hardiwred and there are say 4 windows sensors on 1 zone ??

LOAJ3256 :

Yes -- re program using *8 5555 (after a reset, this *should* be your installer code) and following the programming manual to assign zones, etc.

LOAJ3256 :

4 on a single zone is Ok , if they are windows , program for "INSTANT" in the zone atributes, Entry doors get "Delay" and motions are "Interior, hoem away"

Customer :

becasue. zone 2 has 5 sensors relayed into that 1 zone. so when i programm them i would programm only zone 2 and assign as a perimmiter and that would do so for all 5 sensors connected to that one zone correct?

Customer :

coorect

Customer :

correct*

Customer :

Then how do i reset the pannel?

LOAJ3256 :

Yes --

Customer :

do i follow what it said on the privious web page that you potined out the zone 1 and pgm1

Customer :

??

LOAJ3256 :

Yes - exactly

Customer :

Ok, what do you mean by short?

Customer :

like when it states "short zone 1 and PGM1"

LOAJ3256 :

YES - Please understand that you *may*have to do this more than 1 X as well

Customer :

do i do that with or with out power

Customer :

and what is the worst that could happen if it doesnt go correctly ? and if it does not work what do i do from there?

LOAJ3256 :

POWER all down, including battery. Put th short wire between zone 1 and PGM1 and plug in POWER transformer, it will "click" about 10 times

Customer :

and do i unplug after 10 clicks?

Customer :

or will it stop?

LOAJ3256 :

IF this does not work, the installer has enabled "Installer Lock Out" and the panel would need to be returned to DSC through a dealer

LOAJ3256 :

It will stop

Customer :

then poewr back off re-wire everything and put it back

Customer :

??

LOAJ3256 :

And no, do not unplug. just try *8 5555 and see if your panel responds

LOAJ3256 :

You do not need totake all wires off, just the Z1 terminal shorted to PGM as per instructions'

Customer :

and i will know if it responds because the programming light will turn on and flash correct? and is the terminal PGM labled like that?

LOAJ3256 :

yes

Customer :

when shorting i just take a simple pice of wire put it in both power up the pannel after 10 clicks leave the power on go to the key pad enter *8 5555 and see if it responds correct

LOAJ3256 :

yes'

Customer :

1. Remove AC and battery from the panel.

2. Remove all wires from the Zone 1 and PGM1 terminals.

3. With a piece of wire insert into the Zone 1 terminal to the PGM1

terminal.

4. Apply AC power to the main panel.

5. When Zone Light 1 is lit on the keypad the default is complete.

6. Remove AC power from the control

7. Reconnect all original wiring and power up the control

You will then need to reprogram the panel from scratch...

Customer :

correct?

LOAJ3256 :

Yes correct

Customer :

and the default master code shoudl be ?

LOAJ3256 :

1234

Customer :

now when programming the zones i will be doing so "blinded" so to speak sence this is a LED key pad correct...or do i need a programming remote

Customer :

in order to see the zones as if it was an LCD display

Customer :

or can i do it from the LED5508?

LOAJ3256 :

PLease refer to the programming manual -- the LED's will be "lit" of off depending on the section you are in and the "options" for zones selected

Customer :

do you have the manual

Customer :

or do you know a place where i can get if from offline

LOAJ3256 :

Hold on please

Customer :

ok

LOAJ3256 :

Here's the installer manual so that you have better info. The section on keypad commands is much better than the user manual.

http://www.mainelectronics.com/pdf/PC1555Install.pdf

Customer :

perfect and where would i get the user manual from?

LOAJ3256 :

Here is DSC USER manual direct site -- http://www.dsc.com/index.php?n=library&o=documents&id=1

Customer :

perfect ok

LOAJ3256 :

The "locked" files require a dealer password, but you USER manual(s) are there for D/L

LOAJ3256 :

If this has answered your question , please "Accept" or advise me of any issues. I would appreciate a "Positive" rating and thank you for your time again.

Customer :

ok and if the pannel is locked out nothing will be cheanger or altered

LOAJ3256 :

Yes, good luck:)!
