The manual can be found at this link:http://www.sdilink.com/GE%20Manuals/Simon%203%20Install.pdfMy system is now locked preventing me from entering a new phone number-my cell number. The manual shows Option #8 controls the phone lock feature. However, Option #8 is not available when I press through the options. The options offered are 1,2,3,30,31,36,37... and so on. Can you help me?

yes,, I'm still looking for help
Please try option 42, page 39 to enter your cell / pager # XX you may be locked out of the programming (would be the case if installer set ) for the central station moniotring numbers. Use Add under this option and verify tha it is On, then input your cell number here. Please advise and thank you for your time.
HiThis panel uses a Dealer Code to set the account number and telephone numbers to dial to the monitoring number.... Often monitoring companies will buy up these panels and lock them into their monitoring stations to tie customers to their services...Who was the installing company and did you originally sign a contract for monitoring? If so has that contract expired?
I'm sure you are correct that the installing company has locked out the ability to change the account and phone number that dials monitoring station. A contract was NOT signed at installation.
Were you able to get to option 42, page 39 to enter your cell / pager # , or is installer and dealer lock out confirmed? Do you have the Installer code (default = 4321 , 321, also 654321, 54321 if section 54 increase code lengthe. Sometimes the dealer will lock out (should) for COMS, and leave installer code (maybe) default, in which case you would be able to enter sections / optio 42 and program your cell and options / Just a thought, please advise,
Your answers do not apply to my system
Was this a (original) install by ADT, or another company? The firmware version varies on private label panels, but the sequence(s) i reffered to in the manual link was what I was working from. If this was a custom panel , there will be different sections and values. But if the panel is locked out (as mentioned) you are at the mercy of the alarm company to reset the installer code, they will not (should not) give this out and may require a service call, as the instructions I gave are relative to the programming for thiis panel, with proper access, is accurate per the manual supplied , Thank you for your time
You noticed I said the panel was locked in my initial problem description. So, as you say, nothing can be done other than going to the alarm monitoring company to get the installer code. I thought there might be a workaround. Thanks for your time.
You mentioned option *8 (dealer ) is locked out, which controls the central station programming, installer is where section 42 is that would (have) allowed for the cell call. IF you have a alarm dealer local (we do this for free IF "carried in) please as if they can DEAFULT the code , as YOU own the panel, and as such, should not be locked out of your own panel, please advise and thank you for your time.
I don't see how my local monitor/installer would be able to reset the code to default, 654321, without making a service call, which is what I was trying to avoid.
These panels are designed to be locked by the dealer (monitoring company) into their stations, the only work around is to replace the units EAROM but this requires desoldering equipment...What did you want to do with this question? You have been charged but this can be returned..
I'll leave this session open for awhile as I try to get the monitoring service/installer to unlock the panel. If I'm able to get it unlocked I may need your help in entering the primany and secondary phone numbers. You may remember the problems I had with a DSC system in learning that a pause was needed between the area code and the seven numbers. You were helpful then and I might need your help again. Thanks
Hi again...No problem just come back to me when you are ready...Make sure the installer unlocks BOTH installer programming areas... The standard install code as well as the dealer area (where the phone numbers and account codes are...
