new battery didn't work.
#4 of 4 (repeated)Hello -- you have "several" separate responses to this ,and I will answer in this post. The z900 panel (ADT custom labeled) refereed to low battery. The Z 2 is low battery and FUSE - can you please verify that:1) The fuse on the panel is not (now) blown when you installed the new battery. 2) The power transformer that is connected to the panel (3" x 3" "box" , usually white or cream color) that comes from the panel and is plugged into a AC outlet, is "warm" to the touch, 3) IS you alarm panel monitored " still " by a service OR is it being used 'local only" meaning siren but no dispatch from a central station. 4) When a battery is installed and all of the fuses and power are OK, the battery will still need to be charged to a sufficient level for the panel to "clear" the trouble. This can take hours or even a day or longer depending on the battery condition (off the shelf ) relative to it's rated capacity.
Only Zone 3 is blinking now and alarm light remains on.. No the alarm is not being monitored. I just use it to check the Zones. I'll see if I can get someone to check the fuses and get back to you.l Thanks Gertie.
Ok I appreciate your reply, as there are 'steps" in trouble shooting this anomoly, as ADT used *some* custom configurations on this panel, again, Z900 made for them by Moose. One 3 light "on" CAN mean a failure to communicate!! Have you ever had the alarm "on" (armed) in the past ? The issue now remains that IF the panel has EVER been enabled to communicate, the system TRIED to inform a central station that the battery was low (Z2 light) or fuse blown. Once you installed tha battery, and waited (as I mentioned, it takes up to 24 hours for the panel to charge the battery) , thus clearing the Z2 light, the system NOW wants to call and tell that 1) the battery is "now ok" 2) IF it cannot call (again) mthe Z3 light WILL remain on and in trouble!! Please advise if this system has been previously armed per above. Thank you for your time.
As far as I know the system has never been armed. The house was 3 years old when I moved in and I've never had it armed. #3 light is now out, but alarm lite is still on. It seems to work otherwise,(the red light in the zone unsecure comes on and goes out when it is secure.
Yes , as I suspected, the trouble hes cleared once the panel "saw" the battery was charged. The ALARM light WILL stay on until a valid user code is used -- this is called ALARM MEMORY , so IF you have a code, please enter it to arm the system, the enter again to dis arm the system, and the alarm light will go out - otherwise you system is repaired - The alarm light "on" will have no functional interference with you panel the way you are using it. I would appreciate a "Posative" response , as you rated my answer "negative" when you thought the battery answer was wrong, please advise and thank you for your time
