I have an Ademco Vista 40 system. The fire alarm sounds randomly with no notification at the key pad. It sounds for two or three loud beeps and the stops. It will sound again 15 or 20 min. later. It did it early this morning from 3 am to 6 am. I checked all the smoke detector batteries and changed some. It finally stopped. It started all over again this afternood at 5 pm. What can I do. Can I deactivate the smoke detectors until I get help?
Already Tried: I checked all the 9 volt batteries and they all have at least 9 volts.
Hello, Courtesy and respect for my time and efforts is greatly appreciated. Please work with me until I can either help you or opt-out. Thanks!
If the smokes are part of the alarm system and were having trouble it would be registered on the keypad as a trouble or an alarm. Are you sure the smokes that you are having troubles with are actual alarm system smokes or just stand-alone battery powered smokes that are commonly found at the local hardware store.
They are connected to the system by a connector.

If they are part of the alarm system and wired properly then you would get an indication on the keypad if there was trouble with the smokes. That is why I think they are wired to your house electrical as standard smokes and not part of the home alarm system. I think it would be prudent to have an electrician come out to verify.Glen
