The location and number of fire pulls has been reduced in schools with sprinkler systems .

However some older schools without sprinkler systems may have them. Newer modern schools and schools that have been updated to modern sprinkler systems are allowed to have pulls located in administrative locations only.

Codes are guide lines for minumum standards so some school districts may opt to have pulls installed in the halls and at doorways going beyond what the code requires.
