Genie IS900 garage door opener, will not close, it only

Genie IS900 garage door opener, will not close, it only opens. I just reinstalled this unit on a different door. When I hit the button as the door is opening it will stop but when I push it again it continues to open and will not close?

This is usually a simply fix. There are 3 common problems with this system.

1. limit switch

2. ground wire

3. diode board

Is there a possibility that your doors are out of alignment, if so you need to align them back into position so the door will open and close properly, please let me know either way
