Customer Question

We purchased a new craftman 1/2 hp garage door opener. We have it installed and when we push the button the door goes down but then starts to automatically come back up with no blinking lights. We have turned the adjustment screw to the right (clockwise) several times but it doesn't appear to be making any difference. The alignment sensor lights are okay. What do you suggest?

Welcome. My name is ***** ***** would be glad to assist.

Thanks for the information on the situation, lets see what we can do to remedy the situation.

First, actual Model number from the nameplate on the opener?

Second, EXACTLY which screw was turned and how many times? These adjustments only turn so much, and turning them too much will damage the limits. Only a 1/5-1/4 turn at most on any one time and not over 2 turns total should ever be needed in almost all situations. Only turn them one flat screwdriver blade width at a time is best.

Let me know and we can continue,

Thanks
