What year did the use of treated lumber become code for wood

Resolved Question:

What year did the use of treated lumber become code for wood in contact with concrete? Have an older home 1968, on a slab and was wondering if it was code at that time for treated lumber .

Welcome, my name is XXXXX XXXXX I will do my best to help you with your issue.

I don't know what year this code requirement went into effect. I do know it wasn't until the late 70's or early 80's

Rick :

So if your house was built in '68 this code requirement definitely wasn't in force then

Customer:

was pressure treated wood commonly used in the late 60's or do you know. I had a living room where water got into due to poor grading. the carpet strip was rotten as well as the bottom of the molding. The paneling looked ok with no rot. Was worried about the sole plate.

Rick :

I don't recall even seeing treated wood until the mid to late 70's

Customer:

ok thank you.

Rick :

You're welcome!
