My lift master model #8550 is not operating. The control board

Resolved Question:

My lift master model #8550 is not operating. The control board says hardware failure
Error code 22, see users manual. I have checked manual and the online manual. Nothing about error code 22. Any help would be appreciated

Welcome. My name is XXXXX XXXXX would be glad to assist.

Looking at my copy of the manual, an error code of 2 flashes up arrow and 2 flashes down arrow equates to a logic board failure unfortunately.

Good news is, they are available.

Page 35 of the Manual, double check yours if you would.

You will see the left column has a 2-------- for the Up arrow flashes
This is 2 flashes

Right column has a 1-5--------- for the down arrow flashes
This can be anywhere from 1 flash up to 5 flashes, so any number between 1 and 5 is the same fault.

Internally it is probably triggered in a different way to result in 1 flash or another number up to 5 flashes.

But the end result is the same, unfortunately.

A new logic board is needed.

See page 35

It may be a plus, to add a small plug in style surge protector on the opener as a safety factor in case of surges being involved to damage the electronics.
