Welcome, my name is XXXXX XXXXX I will do my best to help you with your issue.

What type of finish is on the ceiling? just paint? sand paint? texture?

Rick :

Do you want to include painting the ceiling?

Rick :

The entire ceiling will probably need to be painted so the patch doesn't stand out

Rick :

Well, I'll give you a range. Typical drywall ceiling flat or sand paint ~$250-300 for a drywall pro maybe $50 less for a handyman (but you may not get as good a job). If this is actually skim plaster or has a swirl or other fancy texture then you'll need a pro and $350 to $400 would be more like it. This is for both patches and reflects cost in the suburban Boston area. Does not include painting entire ceiling.
