I have an A O Smith Promax ECS- 50 200. There is water leaking

I have an A O Smith Promax ECS- 50 200. There is water leaking from the white plastic ring at the top. What could this be?

Do you mean the top of the tank?

In case you couldn't see my original question here it is again, I need to know if the water you see is at the top of the tank (water heater)

The leak is coming from the top of the tank. On top of the tank
there appears to be 2 white plastic covers and one white plastic piece that
looks as if a pipe should go into it. This is where the water is leaking

What you describe typically indicates a leak in the tank. If the tank is leaking the water heater needs to be replaced. If the tank is less than 6 years old it may still be under warranty. Before you replace the tank be sure the leak isn't coming from the water connections on the tank and running down into the tank jacket. Those plastic covers are usually the access to the anode rod for the tank. There is a slim chance the anode rod is leaking. You would have to remove the covers and the insulation beneath then dry out the exposed hex at the top of the anode to see if the leak is coming from there
