Hello. I have a toilet that has been running off and on for about a month. Whenever I hear it running I fix it. How much water would that possibly use?

Rick : Welcome, my name is XXXXX XXXXX I will do my best to help you with your issue
Customer: ok
Rick : There really is no way to tell how much water a leaky toilet might use.
Rick : I can give you a worst case educated guess
Customer: go on
Customer: let's hear your worst case scenario
Rick : Possibly as much as 750 gallons but that would assume the toilet would run once every hour every day for a month
Customer: so that would only be about 1 unit, correct?
Customer: that is if one unit equals 748 gallons
Rick : Round numbers. Every time the toilet runs I'm assuming its using about a gallon of water. If this is a 1.6 gallon toilet then it would use maybe 1/4 gallon. If it runs every hour X 24 hours a day X 31 days in a month ~ 750 gallons. But this is worst case
Rick : Your description sounds far from worst case
Customer: thank you very much. that's all i need to know.
Rick : You're welcome!
