What is the best finish for a pine deck? Is stain alone adequate? We are using a Behring semi transparent stain which the previous owner had applied.
Already Tried: Behr stain from home depot.

Ok, check the stain and see if it says for decks. There is a difference.
Its better to have some stain on it than no stain. But the deck stain is better because its more of a heavy duty stain.

Not so much as evenly.
You want a good amount so that it absorbs into the wood enough to be effective.
Its like painting almost.
