garage door will open with remote but will not close. It can be close with wall switch by holding it down until it is closed. Yellow light on motor is flashing. HELP Thanks
Welcome. My name is XXXXX XXX would be glad to assist.
Can you close the door, then look at the sensors mounted on each side of the door about 10" up from the floor and see if they both have lights ON or just one of them is ON?
Both sensors have a green light.
Ok, thanks.
Can you open the door, and see if they both stay green? If they do, then place something between them to see if one turns offs and on when the object is moved?
Both stay green when opened, one turns off when object is placed and returns to green when removed.
Next, try closing the door and watch the sensors at the same time for a flicker or turning of even for a brief moment.
What you are experiencing is associated with the door sensors. The symptoms are typical with one of the sensors telling the door something is in the way.
Just a simple flicker will trigger the door to open back up.
No flicker when trying to use the remote...which won't work. When holding door the wall switch, I cam only view one but it appers to flicker.
The wall switch over rides the sensors holding the button down. That is a feature to assist in closing when the sensors fail.
If you see a flicker, the sensors are not quite in perfect alignment
Maybe the dorr has a little twist on the rail and moves the sensor for a brief moment.
Try to clean the sensors with a damp cloth.
Also, just touch one and barley try to force it a little to see if they blink or go off and then re-align them
Could also be a lose wire at the sensor or at the opener itself.
OK, back soon.
ok, no problem
Cleanng and adjusting just a hair worked!!! Opened and closed it several times. Thank you so much.
You are very welcome
Glad to assist
