After lightning strike in area, door opened once with wall control, then would not close.Verified that power is on and sensors are both lit. Trolley was jammed against stop boltin rail near motor. I removed bolt. Turned UP travel limit screw 1/2 turn counterclockwiseHear one thump when pressing wall control, but no movement of door or flashing lights.Learn button flashes 5 times, pause, flash 5 more times, continually. Unplugging/replugging motor from power stops learn button flashing until control buttonis pressed again.I would appreciate any help you can give me.

Hello, and thanks for your question! My name is XXXXXXX XXX I am happy to assist you today!!
When the unit flashes 5 times it will normally indicate the following issues.
#1, the motor is over heating. If the logic board has been damaged by the lightning strike then it may be trying to make the door operate in a very strange way. Like only letting it open, and just keep trying to open until the motor burns out or over heats. (there is the 5 flash indicater)
#2, The surge fried the electronics in the motor and it will now not function as it should.
It can also damage the sensors.
If the opener is 10 years old or older, I would suggest that you replace the entire thing as they were only designed to last 10 to 12 years and the cost of repair will be as much if not more to repair it.
You can buy a new opener for around $125.00 and up
At this point, adjusting the travel and force of the opener will not fix the issue because there are electronics that have been damaged.
Thanks for letting me assist you today!! Charles
