I am trying to install a wall mount and my walls have thin metal studs, not wooden. If I mount an 8x12" piece of wood 3/4" thick with 4 moly boltsof1/4" ,will that be strong enough to hold the mount and tv?
Optional Information: Computer OS: Windows 98
Hi my name is XXXX, X will do my best to solve your problem
You do not even need the wood, if you are just using a flat screen mounting kit, you just need to find the metal studs and use the expandable anchors that come with it
we use metal backing on metal studs all of the time for sinks and drinking fountains
your metal studs have should have drywall over them which will disperse the load and the expandable anchors will hold in the metal stud. You could get away with just using sheet metal screws as well
