how to remove a pella sliding patio door

I need to paint my sliding door.in order to do so you must remove the slider door.how can i remove the slider. its a pella sliding door. wood on the inside and aluminum clad on the outside.

You should be able to remove the door by sliding it half way out, then physically lifting up on the door itself. You will see that it raises up just above the bottom of the sill. Then tilt it out and you have it. To remove the other side of the sliding glass door, just do the same. If you have any other questions, just let me know.

Actually Joseph was on the right track however depending on what series your door is, the procedure will vary. The Architect and Designer series will be different from the Proline series. Also you will need to take a couple more steps first to get the panel out. For ease of understanding and efficiency for you I have included a link below that will walk you through the process of removing the sliding panel of all the above mentioned Pella series sliding doors.
