# How would I wire a 5 way switch with the power coming into ...

### Resolved Question:

How would I wire a 5 way switch with the power coming into the first switch and the light is at the end of the run; In other words I want to be able to turn on an exterior spotlight(s) from 4 switch locations. I'm guessing using a 3 way at each end at then using 2- 4 way switches in the middle of the run. I would be looking for a diagram if at all possible. Thanks in advance.   Andy

Glenn,
Thanks for the diagram but I need to know how to wire it with the power going to the first switch and the light is at the end of the run:
Power in > 1st switch > 2nd switch > 3rd switch > 4th switch > light.   Thanks, Andy

Hi ...

Let me jump in and clarify if I can ..

On Glenns diagram .. where the light is shown remove the light and draw that wire straight thru .. that is your nuetral .. on the last 3 way switch take out that little verticle connector and you will have a hot from that switch and the nuetral that you carried thru all the switches .. thats where you connect the light

Reply to electricaldick's Post: Hello Again,
I'm still not sure... the diagram only shows 1(one) 4 way switch. Do I just add another 4 way switch into the run and follow the wiring route the same way? This way I would have:
Power in > 3way switch > 4way switch > 4way switch > 3way switch > light?
