what is concrete poisoning?
Concrete poisoning is a slang term used to describe many things. One possible description is a chemical burn resulting from contact with fresh Portland cement. If you fail to wash cement off your skin it will ultimately burn you. Portland cement is highly alkali. The burns can range from very minor red irritated skin, to extreme blistering or even swollen joints and infection. Concrete poisoning can also be used to describe the effect of a person falling from a building on a concrete surface. There are no actual medical definitions for concrete poisoning but is loosely used to describe several conditions. Below is a link that provides some information on the term.
