i got tested for herpies two years ago all test were negitve but doctor thought maybe i had them at first put me on medicine until test results came in then took me off when results were negetive no outbreaks for two years then same symtoms 3 months ago went away penis on end of it was losing skin cleared up can i transmit to girl friend when there is know outbreak if we have sex unprotected we have had sex once unprotected worried about her

Hi there,I am Dr. Shahzad and will be helping you out with your concerns.Since you were tested negative for herpes two months back and you have never tested positive for herpes it is UNLIKELY that you have herpes.And if you do not have herpes virus in your body you cannot transmit it.Even without an outbreak one can transmit herpes but the chances of transmission without an outbreak are much much less than with an outbreak.If you think that your herpes test should be repeated then you can get yourself tested again to make sure that you do not have herpes but as of now since you tested negative you cannot transmit the virus.Let me know if you have any further questions.Regards
