HIV 1 & 11 - positive, low iron count 3.5, cd4 count 250Would this reflect stage 4
Optional Information: Person's Gender: Female Person's Age: 35 Already Tried: She has gone to the clinic, but has been told that her counts are very bad. They will council her three times and decide weither or not to give the drugs. They are now takeing bloods a second time
Hello, I am sorry to hear about this situation
Since her CD4 count is 250, she should commence treatment with antiviral drugs
it is not a diagnosis of AIDS based on the CD4 count if it is above 200

yes
Did you understand my reply?
The results point in the direction of Aids at the final stages
If she does not have an AIDS defining illness then they don't show she has AIDS yet
AIDS is diagnosed based on the CD4 count when it is less than 200
You feel differently, my sister in law works with Aids patients for the past 20 years in SA, my friend that works for me, whom is african , has an iron level of 3.5 % which really needs a blood transfusion, the test for HIV 1 & 11 are positive
She has lost plenty of muscle mass, and has been sick very often with flu, running stomach, bad coughs
HIV and AIDS are not the same thing
Why wont the clinic start her on the drugs she needs, they feel she is too ill to start with them and don't think it is good idea to start on them.
They sold start her on the drugs based on her CD4 count
OK, I hear you, sorry if I sound in a panic, I am as I just want her to get the correct treatment from the goverment as she cannot afford it herself, i am helping with a good balanced nutritional plan
ok
so, she will be okay, with low count of 250 cd4
I cannot predict if she will be okay, but based on the CD4 count she doesn't have AIDS yet, but there may be some AIDS defining illnesses which she may have, and only her doctors can determine if she has them
ok, they said that they want to council her on her condition, and take more blood work,
Also they refused her access to her results, is this legal
It is not legal in most counties to refuse access to results
that s what i told her, I will chat with her when she gets back from the clinic, i think she would be better off going private for her blood work, as the clinic in SA refuse her copies and access
thank you for your info and help
Ok, that is reasonable
