	We recently polled our Mentors to find out what they actually do. Here's what they had to say.

Solution Here are some of the responses that we received when we polled our Mentors, to find out exactly what they do to help.

Mentor #1

Maintain the quality of answers from all Experts in my category
Assist New Experts to learn the system, and let them know what is expected from them from the other Experts in the section
Assure the tenured Experts are not stepped on by new Experts
Give agrees to help newbie Experts to convert NYPC questions
Agree and assist all Experts

Mentor #2

What I consider in my realm and what "real" mentors consider in their realm are two very different things. In my realm, they can PM me any time with any questions on how the site operates like how the reports work, how to improve their accept rate, if they get stuck on a question and need help. If they have a problem with another Expert, I try to diffuse the situation. I also teach them how to improve their profiles to make them look more appealing. :)

As you can see, each Mentor tackles their responsibilities differently but there's one common thread -- Mentors are in place to help new Experts be as successful as you can be.
