I don't recognize your company on my account statement. What is JustAnswer?

JustAnswer.com is an Expert answer website where people can ask a question online of a doctor, lawyer, veterinarian, mechanic, or many other types of industry Experts and get a personalized response for a small fee. Our fees are charged on a per question basis, and a single charge on your statement is usually a fee for one question or question deposit.

What is a good faith deposit and why do I need to place one?

You do not have to pay your Expert until you have viewed and accepted a satisfactory answer, however a refundable good faith deposit is required of new customers who do not yet have an accept on our site. The deposit is placed in a user account in your name on our site and it is completely refundable for any reason until you spend it to accept an answer.

The reason behind this is that Experts can be nervous about answering questions for new users, when they can't be sure that the user will be honest and pay for helpful answers. Our deposit system gives Experts the confidence that the funds would be available to pay them should they be able to help, and the User can feel safe knowing that we will refund their deposit, no questions asked, at any time. Once you have at least one accept on our site, this process is usually no longer required, although if you have a large number of open questions at one time, you may be asked to place a good faith deposit again.

When you accept your Expert's answer, the funds in your user account from your deposit are used to pay your Expert. However all the funds you deposit in your user account are refundable until you spend them, and requesting a refund is quick and easy. You can request a refund by clicking here. Refund requests are generally processed within 24 hours with the funds clearing our bank on the same day. However, please allow up to 4 business days for your bank to post the refund to your account.

I have already accepted my answer, but I'm not satisfied. Can I get a refund?

Once you accept your answer, the funds are transferred to the Expert who helped you to compensate them for their time. If you would like a refund after accepting, your request must be reviewed by a Site Administrator. Please submit a support request and include the details of why the answer is unsatisfactory and the email address you used to register on the website.

I would like to close my account

Please submit a support request to close your JustAnswer account. Requests are generally handled within 24 hours. If you ever need your account reactivated for any reason, please submit a support request and include your user name and/or e-mail address.
