spanky :

Hi let me look at question carefully and I'll be rite back

spanky :

it sounds like the exhaust brake is partially stuck in the closed position On this unit the exhaust brake cuts off air flow in the exhaust after turbo charger there is a rod that sticks out the actuator and goes to a flap inside exhaust the exhaust at turbo and brake has to come apart and cleaned so it won't stick or the actuator is bad not returning all the way so clean first check adjustment of actuator then check operation. The squealing sound is from a partially blocked exhaust. If you have any other question feel free to ask spanky

Customer : So I need to remove the turbo and exhaust brake components to see if cleaning fixes the situation. If not I'm spending a whole bunch of money on new parts. Is there anything I need to know before taking it apart? Can you give me some intruction. Its not warranty so no issues
spanky :

no you don't need to take turbo off after turbo is exhaust brake

spanky :

just remove clamp at turbo and look into and see if it is opening and closing the flat plate inside you may want to spray with penetrating oil or the plate can be damaged if not just make sure it is free and not damaged

Customer : Ok so if I follow air intake to turbo, the exaust brake is after it. Gotcha. Not much room. Have to take half the damn truck apart to get at it. Any tricks or just start removing stuff. Sorry, last question.
spanky :

not a problem thats what Im here for

spanky :

follow exhaust to brake just behind turbo
