When I start my 450 crawler loader it runs for a few minutes and then loses power. When i shut it down and start it again the power is fine but after a minute or two the same thing happens. I had a new fuel pump put in and I installed a new solenoid. What could be the problem?

You say fuel pump replaced? The transfer pump or the injection pump?
Thanks
Injection pump replaced or the transfer pump?
We had the pump replaced because the loader wouldn't shut down when the key was turned off. We also replaced the solenoid. After we did that we started having the problem with the power.
Injection pump.
Have the filters been changed, and the lines checked back to the tank? Has the screen # XX in the transfer pump been checked?
On diesel engines it always turns out to be a fuel starvation issue.
No. Not in the transfer pump. It worked fine before he put the solenoid in because it wouldn't shut down properly.
The solenoid can still be a problem, but the only way to know is to remove the tip and spring, and run engine, but you have no engine kill then.
Could I have caused this problem by getting air in line after putting in the solenoid?
No ,air in the system would have quickly gone thru and will be long gone. One other thing that can cause problem is the check valve in the injection pump cover, where the return line attaches. If this check valve sticks with debris, the pump builds internal pressure and will kill the engine.
I did blow the return line with an air hose and it was open and the check valve was also OK.
If all that turns out good, you can make up a test line from the inlet of the transfer pump, back into the fuel tank filler, or a separate fuel container and test run engine with the suction side of the system bypassed..
Ok. I'll try this.
If it runs like it should, you know the problem is from the transfer pump back.
You might also check that screen in the transfer pump.
Thank you.
