Is it ok to take the backrest off the fork truck, will I be leaving my workers in a position of danger of freight falling back on them or if they need to move the fork tins will there be a chance that the tins could come off the carriage it is pretty worn.thanks.
The load backrest is exactly that so i would instruct your operators to be very careful when using the forklift without it if they must. It is also a OSHA violation to remove it if equipped with it from the factory. The forks can slide off the end of the carriage if there is no stops besides the backrest. If you must operate lift without backrest make sure there is a stop on both sides, most of the time you can use one of the load backrest bolts with a large washer. Thanks and let me know if you need more help.
