Cummins..gallon..a parked regen (it will blink 3times) then stay

Resolved Question:

I have a 2011 prostar cummins isx 435 motor that i have been putting a gallon of oil in bout every 7000 miles as i do a pm service about 20000 miles. Truck only has 155000 miles and ive had this oil problem since 40000 miles. Any help on y its using so much oil?
I also am unable to do a parked regen (it will blink 3times) then stay off when i hit the parked regen button. I feel a loss of power and the temp light comes on frequently so im feeling its not regenning as it should. Any insight would be appreciated.

Hello and welcome to Just Answer! I would be more than happy to assist you today. Are you getting fault codes, for the engine not regening.what is the engine serial number
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
No fault codes its been into 2 international dealerships as both have said no codes have come up when diagnostics were run
Dont know serial nmbr off hand and my student is driving right now

ok than your not having any issues, Your regening while driving this is called passive. Are you following the OEM guideline to do a stationary regen, every oem is different. You will get faults for everything on these engines.I would get the ecm software updated as these are new engines and the factory is always putting software changes in. as far as the oil consumption your fine no problems there thats normal

Where would i find the oem guidelines for this truck?
Expert:  DR.Cummins replied 5 years ago.
The drivers side sun visor should have the process that they suggest for. A stationary regen also the operation/owners manual will have it
