Customer Question

I have a 3406C 425 horse caterpillar with a fully mechanical injection pump. Was wondering what the best way to get more power out of would be, as far as turning pump up or swapping turbos. Engine is in an extended hood 379 Pete and builds 30psi boost and wont go over 900 degrees. Runs excellent but would like a little more.

Hi. Thanks for using JA! I will try and help you out.

There is an adjustment that can be made on the back of the governor to increase the fuel to the engine. I would suggest having someone install the Cat tool group to check the settings. It is possible that they are too low. If they are low, the screws would need to be backed out to get the correct fuel setting.
