Customer Question

I am trying to fit a large aftermarket oil cooler to my 88 rainbow bus mid mount 6 cyl wo6ed and wondering if any one knows where to take the oil lines to and from. There is a possibility place's on the oil filter housing, when your looking at it from the right side there is two plugs one smaller in the middle with no spring behind it and one two inch's forwards a bit bigger with a spring behind it.there is also two plugs facing forwards with springs the left one slightly smaller and 1/2 inch up. any suggestions greatly appreciate

wayne :

Hi I'm Wayne, I will help you with this,

wayne :

yes the best place is the oil filter housing, small plug, no spring, the other is oil pressure regulator

wayne :

you need to return to oil pan because of high volume of oil, some times there is a plug or plate on oil pan, use that

Customer :

Hi Wayne

Customer :

Im looking for more of a technical answer than just bleeding of all the oil from the oil pump hopping for the best. Taking any oil pleasure from the crank would surely be dangerous on any motor .

Customer :

Do you know where I can get info on that perticular modle of engine ie oil pump 1988 Hino eng'no wo6ed. in a rainbow 24 seat imported bus.

Customer :

Hino W.A.can't help

wayne :

I have been a engine man for 34 +YEARS , that is what I would do, I do not know where you can get info on that pump, you would not be taken oil from the crank, reason being, it is such high pressure,it will travel fast , besides it goes to filter, to Crank, then cam, and then top end ..........

wayne :

you are kind of changing your question, from what you asked Originally,

wayne :

one other thing I would like to add, is you can tap into the oil galley on side of block of the cam ports
