Thanx for any and all help. Keith

My experience with perkins engine is that they are hard to prime, you may have to crack the fuel lines while cranking to get it to run without ether. I hope you did not frag the pump. Hope this helps, Luke

I'm not convinced that it just ran out of fuel, because of the filter, because it quit like shutting the key off, not as if it ran out of fuel. Don't understand the comment "frag the pump". didn't use much ether, don't approve of that practice, just tried to isolate the problem to fuel. thanx, Keith

"Fraging the pump" is my silly term for hurting the injection pump from fuel starvation from a clogged filter. If there is air in the fuel system you may have to crack the injection lines while cranking the engine to get the fuel out. Air can get in the fuel even if you fill the filter during replacement. Hope this helps,

Luke

Never would have thought, cracked the fuel lines--no fuel. did them one at a time till got fuel to all, then fired it up. This was money well spent. thank you so much for your help. Next time I won't wait 2 months before I ask for help. Have a Merry Christmas, Keith
