14-02 error code on Bobcat 190. Fuel solenoid shutoff is on

Customer Question

14-02 error code on Bobcat 190. Fuel solenoid shutoff is "on" the manual says. Starts and runs for a minute then shuts back down. Ideas?

Drained the fuel line, made sure all electrical connections were secure.

Welcome to JUST ANSWERS. The fuel shutoff solenoid has to have battery voltage at all times the key is on for unit to continue to run. Check it for power with test light or voltmeter. If it continues to have power when unit shuts down, remove it and check the operation outside the injection pump.If it has power and doesn't function, it is bad and will need to be changed. If it doesn't continue to have power, check the relays that are supposed to keep it open, located in the electrical panel.

Code 14-02 means that the Fuel Pull Relay feedback wire to the controller (wire 8150)has voltage on it when it should not. The fuel PULL circuit is only energized for a few seconds when the ignition switch is first turned on. Then the PULL turns off, and only the fuel solenoid HOLD circuit should have power.

Check the fuel pull wire 8100, feed back wire 8150 for being shorted to power. Check the fuel pull relay for being stuck in the on position.
