Customer Question

I have a BR750 NH Round baler The belts need to be relaced. The factory length is 35.1 ft. how much could I shorten the belts or is that possible?

This all depends on what is wrong with your belts. If there is a broken one then it either broke for a reason or due to foreign objects in the hay. Usually when I would modify belts I would try to keep them at the factory length. When one belt is shorter than the others it puts added strain on the belt that is shorter. Usually the belts will stretch at an equal length. Then there is the problem with endless belted balers. I can not recall if a BR750 has endless belts, but I do know that it is a chore to change them, usually involves removing a side of the baler. My advice is to make the belt no more than half an inch longer than the factory specs. If you are a custom operator then maybe it is time for new belts. Hope this helps.

If the belts are shorter than the recommended length, can you adjust the tension where they will work? For example if they are 3-4 inches shorter than recommended length, are there adjustments you can do to make them work?

Shortening the belts affects the position of the rollers in the baler. In past experiences I have found that if you keep everything to the factory measurements then it makes for a nicer bale and there is less down time.
