The starter on my MCI 10 with 8v92 started to drag . I had it rebuilt in a professonal alternator/starter shop . cost $275.00 . It started the engine fine. We tried it about 3 times. No problems. MY mechanic took it to the inspection station. It came back fine . WE parked it and the following friday I startes it up (no problems) I wanted it to warm up, check lubrication, everything appeared okay. After 15 minutes it stopped on his own. I tried tio restart but nothing happened. Upon inspection one battery post had melted of and the starter was destroyed, The commutator had lost a few pieces. MY generator does not show a part number. It has on the oval plate the following information 50MT 24v cw 10478911 400 95413.
I got free help which I can not afford. A friend bought a new high energy starter (I dont know what rotation but it is 12 volt) (He did not know about the old starter being 24volt))
He then suggested we convert to 12 volt starting which I believe will create new problems. Help My core is now junk. I am trying to find the starter numbers that can be used for this application.

Hi there the starter that you are looking for is a delco remey model 50MT clockwise rotation 24 volt. If you go to a truck shop they will be able to easily get the starter that you need to get going
IF you need more help just ask
IF you agree with my answer then please accept,Feedback is also welcomed THANKS
I sent you the info that it was marked 50MT CW and 24volt.
My research before I contacted you that there a re numerous different 50MT starters.
The most obvius difference either 11 or 12 sline.
There are apparently also several different instalation patterns. Probably relasting to installation on different engines aand trucks. The 50MT appaears to be group sizing and is apparently available for some detroit some cummins and cat engines. I have found many different part numbers and I need to know what part I need for my installation.
regards Michel
Hi there the part number of the starter that you removed is 10478911 this is the delco number most truck shops will be able to cross it to a rebuilt lister number or get you a new starter
