What is the safe operating temperature range for a Hino h07c engine
Optional Information: Year: 1989
Hi I'm Wayne, I will help you with this. A good safe operating temp for the engine is 185- 205 degree. lower temp, will give you unburned fuel, and lot of smoke, Higher temp., will cause over heat and my cause engine damage. If this helped you, please hit Accept. if not get back to me.
Wayne,Thanks for your answer. Are your temperatures in Fahrenheit or Celsius?I have taken temperature readings from a number of places using an electronic laser thermometer (on the surface of the block, head, radiator, sender unit and radiator pipes) at various intervals during aXXXXXand whilst most readings have been 94C (201F) or less I have measured temperature readings as high as 104 Celsius (219F) on the block and sender unit. One measurement of the block after stopping got to 115C (239F).Is this of concern? Thanks again, Graham
HI GramHemsworth,Mine are in ( F), If you are runninng 219, that is very high, not boarder line high,I would replace Thermostats, clean/ flush radiator, and blow out A/C condener coil,if you have the this. This will bring Temp., down. Thanks, Wayne
Experience: 34 years experiance as engine rebuild and problems.Thermo-King repair and trouble shooting.
Wayne,Thanks again...I have tried all those suggestions but with no luck...GrahamPS If you have any other suggestions they are more than welcome.
Morning Graham,I did not notice in your last answer, 239 is this normal??, Well yes, the block always gets hotter when engine off, Due to no coolant circulating,. Did you make sure your fan is kicking in, (fan Clutch), or the belts are good and tight, (belt Driven).other things that would cause high temp, Fan shroud, broke/missing, Engine timing. Thanks, Wayne
Wayne,
I have checked the fan and belts and they are all OK.
I have looked closely at the temperature data and I think the radiator isn't reducing the water temperature very much (water coming from the radiator is running only around 7C less than the water going into it). So I think I am off to get the radiator re-cored or replaced.
Thanks again for you r help, Graham
