Wayne, I have been running the engine at 3000 to 3500 for one year! Are you sure of your sources?

correct, Its a International Harvester 9 liter diesel 1984. Navistar is the new name for this engine.CheersTerry

The model is a 9 liter harvester. The hp is 180CheersTerry
HiCorbin39,OK, 9.0L is not the model, that also crosses to a truck engine, Near as I can Tell want little info I have 9.0L marine engine, is a C-392 180 Hp.Max Rpm Is 3100, and Continuous run is 3000 RPM. I went thru everthing to get this, with Info you suppled, This best I can do for you, Unless you can give me Exact Engine Model #
