Good Morning,

I may be able to help with this issue.

Can you answer a few questions?

  • What is your engine serial number (On the valve cover)
  • Do you get a "Wait to start" Light on your dash, and how long does it stay on for?
  • Do you wait for the light to go out before you try and start the engine
  • What Temp. are having the trouble at
  • How many miles do you have on the truck
  • Do you notice the volt meter drop when you turn the key to on? if so, what voltage?
  • Any other issues, or recent work done on the engine?

Thank you,

Engine ser. no. 57066026 I do get wait to start light that last around 10 seconds. My volt meter doesn't change when you hear the solinoid go off. Only have this problem if temp. is 48 or below.Truck has 220000 miles, serviced every 6000, and runs good. You can hear solinoid come on and off. And I do have power to grid??? Its got me. jsut figured out I have code showing it is ...p0514.

Still reviewing the book.

I should have asked.

Are you using the right Oil and Fuel for your region? Is the engine turning over fast enough when cold?

The heater light being on for 10sec. is not enough, so this may be an issue.

When you say you have power to the heaters, are they getting warm? You are not seeing the volt meter re-act or show the voltage drop that would indicate the grid is pulling a lot of amps.

Have you had a chance to review the file I sent you as a PDF?

Customer: replied 6 years ago.
Is code p0514 the same as the intake air temp. cinding unit.? If so where exactly is it on the intake on my 03.
Expert:  William replied 6 years ago.
I am not sure about the code, I was able to look at your engine side info., but not the truck. Let me take a quick look and see if I can get the sensor pictures.
Expert:  William replied 6 years ago.

May not be exact, but is all I see available.
