Hi thank you for your question hope this helps.

I am guessing we are talking about an over the road truck?

I own a peterbilt log truck with the 3406E engine it is at 1,000,000 and still going strong.

Cat built a good engine if taken care or i am toled by other truckers it will pass 2 million

Hope this helps
Good luck

B series engines use a narrow rod bearing, C series and later use the wide rod bearing. The big concern is how long to go before a bearing change is needed. Most would replace them at 250,000 miles some would risk it to 500,000. It all varies on the use and care the engine received. If CAT liners are used at rebuild, one million miles are normal with proper service.

Most experts will help with related questions that don't need to much detail. To be fair, a question that is completely different and needs lots of detail should be on a new post.
