Mumps vaccine is generally given as the MMR (mumps, measles, rubella) at 12-15 months and again before starting kindergarten.
Anyone 18 years or older needs an additional fresh mumps vaccine, either the single vaccine if they can prove they had MMR as children or the combo vaccine. So it's best that you have the vaccine. If your kids didn't get another injection before college, they should have it as well.
