How do your blood sugars run?
If higher than 200 then you may get frequent urination and dehydration ..
You may have electrolyte abnormals as possible cause to the cramping ...
Recommend you follow up with your doctor and have renal function + electrolytes ( sodium , potassium, magnesium ,caclcium ,bicarbonate , chloride) and glucose and hemoglobin A1C checked ..
Your cramping may benefit to try potassium and magnesium supplements now
I hope that this is helpful for you
