Hi - I just had my AST and ALT tested. My AST was 30. My ALT was 54, which the test report indicated was out of range. Should I be concerned?:
JA: Have you seen a doctor about this yet? What medications are you taking?
Customer: I have not seen a doctor yet. I did this test on my own, through RequestATest website. I am not taking any medications. I am 67 years old and hae had a lifeling addictionto sugar and junk foods.
JA: What medications do you take daily? Are you allergic to any medications?
Customer: I do not taek any medications. I am allergic to gluten, eggs and soy.
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?
Customer: I do take traditional chinese herbs. Also I am allergic to milk.

AST & ALT reference levels may vary between labs.

For many of them they are 5-40 & 7 - 56 usually.

In liver diseases the levels are elevated, often many times.

Your ALT level is mildy elevated & is not worrying.
