I have red streaks in the back of my throat and it makes it feel like I have to cough a lot it seems very itchy and burns . it happened right after I was dne eating. like my throat was scratched

Customer: it feels like if I take a deep breath it sets it off. I had a cough for about a week

The streaks usually indicate that there is inflammation coming from higher up, usually the sinuses. You are likely having postnasal drip which is going down the back of your throat.

It's acidic and caustic so it creates a lot of inflammation.

This in turn makes the throat very sensitive.

You can try to do some sinus washing to get rid of the material in the sinuses.

The throat will still be sensitive and spastic for another 2-3 days.

Using herbal teas to soothe it and gargling with saltwater many times a day will help.
