Customer Question

for someone female about 120 lb how could using scope affect a breathalyzer?
JA: Have you seen a doctor about this yet? What medications are you taking?
Customer: this is not for me - it's for a friend .. as far as I know the only thing she takes is Tylenol / ibuprophen .. just curious if she used scope before driving could this affect a breathalyzer test?
JA: What medications do you take daily? Are you allergic to any medications?
Customer: medication for polosystic ovary syndrome - just because of an imbalance of estrogen to testosterone .. not allergic to any medications
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?

I'm Dr Palmer. So scope and most mouth washes contain alcohol which should cause a + Breathalyzer.

Certainly if you drink it you can become intoxicated. But if it was only used (swish spit), the breathylizer can be positive, but to conclude if the patient was intoxicated or now, he/she should have a alcohol level blood test.

This will confirm alcohol intoxication.

But if police watch a person for about 20-30 minutes, then the affect of mouth wash (swish and spit) would then not affect the test. I hope I was able to help you. Rate me and let me know if any questions.
