I have been battling a cold this past week and it has gone

Customer Question

I have been battling a cold this past week and it has gone into my chest. Nothing seems to be helping, and now i have a metal taste in my mouth when i cough. Should I be concerned?
JA: How long have you been dealing with the cough? Are you having any other symptoms?
Customer: the cough started yesterday after this head cold moved into my chest.
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?
Customer: i have been feeling fatigued, and a stuffy nose, but that's about it i was just on a cruise to bermuda. I assume i got a yucky virus from so many people in one place

HiCustomerI'm a 33 year old woman. I have been coughing a few times every 5-10 minutes. I had been very fatigued with a fever for 2 days earlier in the week. Then it became a stuffy nose and chest cold yesterday with this dry cough.I haven't had a chance to get to the doctor, which is why I am asking you.

Thank you for all the information,

Sometimes after a viral episode bacterial infection supervene.

In infection you can have metallic taste in the mouth.

Though you are having dry cough, still physical examination by doctor should be taken.

OTC Benadryl or Mucinex DM or Tylenol cold can be tried.

Chest X-ray, blood count can be needed.

If there is pneumonia, you may need antibiotic.

I suggest to consult doctor as soon as possible.

I hope this information helps.

If there’s anything else I can do, please let me know.
