Customer Question

Hi there I am 26 male. I have been drinking pretty heavily for the last year and a half (more so more recently) like 6-9 beers a night. Recently I have been feeling fatigued after eating and kinda feel like a want to sleep a lot more than usual. What could this be?

Hello!

Your increased fatigue and sleepiness could be one of many different things ...

I do think that you would benefit from healthier habits ..less beer / healthy diet / exercise...

Get a check up I recommend and discuss symptoms with your doctor ...

A physical may be revealing and supporting blood work may include screening for mononucleosis / thyroid function / check for iron deficiency / anemia ...etc ...,

I hope that this information is helpful for you

Let me know if you have further questions or concerns

I will be happy to get back with you

If my answer has been helpful and to your satisfaction then please remember to leave positive feedback

Thank you and Best Regards,

Is there anything serious I need to worry about?
Expert:  Anthony Bray, MD replied 7 months ago.

Hello ,

No I really doubt anything that serious at your age ...

I think that the fatigue may reflect some problem but may be something like mono that clears with time or hypothyroidism which is readily treatable for example

I hope that this is helpful for you

Let me know if you have further questions

Best regards,

How about liver?
Expert:  Anthony Bray, MD replied 7 months ago.

That should be checked too -- yes definitely to that ...

Fatty liver changes / alcoholic hepatitis would be potential concerns

You would likely have right upper abdominal pain and nausea up if that were your problem however ..

Yes your liver function tests would be included in a general physical

I hope that this is helpful for you
