Hello. I am a 58year old woman with normal blood results,except abnormal absolute monocytes of 74. Absolute lymphocytes of 5320. What could cause so abnormal numbers?
JA: In general, how has your health been lately?
Customer: A little tired.

Customer: Ct scan shows atelectasis

Your other tests and Total WBC counts are normal.

Lymphocyte, Monocyte counts are elevated.

As CT scan showed atelectasis, this can be due to viral infection or a chronic bacterial infection.

It can take time to come down.

Doctor can proceed for further tests depending on the severity of atelectasis or symptoms.

As you do not have any symptom, doctor can wait and watch.

Repeat tests can be taken after a few weeks or months.
