Hello

The blood tests do not indicate a problem.

What did her doctors say

What is your question?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Her wbc count is above normal, according to other information on the web, she has a viral infection, autoimmune problem, or leukemia
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
We live in mexico, her doctor doesn't know, we are covered by Mexican public health care, it is not like in USA
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
I took her to get a blood test on my own, plus she has not eaten solid foods for over 10 days
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
My primary question is, are these signs of leukemia?
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
You say the blood tests do not indicate a problem? They are out of range, I'm not a doctor, nor a nurse, nor a LVN, but I say out of range is a problem

Please cancel my service, I think its automated response, it sucks, please cancel, not even worth $5.00 deposit
Expert:  DrRussMD replied 10 months ago.

Hi.

My response is not automated.

The blood tests are within lab error range, or typical of a simple viral infection.

It would NOT indicated an autoimmune problem.

It would NOT indicate leukemia.

A common cold would do it.

So

What is your question about the symptoms?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Why isn't she eating solid foods, she has always had a good appetite, she will not eat her favorite food, not even chips, cake, nothing at all
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
I took her to get blood test to see her RBC count, I read on line that loss of appetite can be due to anemia

OK

There is no way to say without exam.

However, there are a number of possibilities.

Stomach inflammation.

Inflammation of the esophagus.

Stomach emptying problem.

Infection of the GI track, but this would usually resolve.

Other problems, such as any more serious illness, for example, liver, or kidney disease.

Hidden infection.

And other problems.

This is really not a self diagnosis situation.

And labs to not direct a diagnosis.

Diagnosis directs labs.

So, she needs to see a doctor, bot***** *****ne.

We have seen a doctor here in Mexico, he doesn't know from his exam
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
She isn't eating, she has normal temp, looks happy, plays, watches TV, she does sometimes but very rarely point at her stomach when I ask her to eat
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
She does not talk, she has Downs syndrome
Expert:  DrRussMD replied 10 months ago.

Then she needs to see a doctor more familiar with digestive problems.

The test she needs right now, which would be the easiest is a barium swallow, which at least should show gross stomach emptying problems, stricture in the esophagus, or problem in the small intestine. Diagnosis , I guess I should have said, requires a complete exam, and then the correct testing based on exam.

Her stomach probably hurts, which would go along with gastritis.

H pylori is a bug that can cause this.

A breath test or stool test can see if she has this: in that case she needs the correct antibiotics.

I live south of San Diego, in Mexico, should I rush her to Children's Hospital? I don't have insurance but they will accept her in emergency

Yes.
