I have left pain on top of my thigh by crease or on crease.

Customer Question

I have left pain on top of my thigh by crease or on crease. My hip lot of times feels like it's catching on something and the pain radiates to my knees where it intensifies and then goes to ankle. MRI of back and hip and pelvis are normal

Started on right buttocks that feels like something locking up then moved to left hip or where leg joins pelvis and that pain is bad and has affected my knees too

I am Dr. Arun and will be helping you today.

Since your MRI is normal, you may get following investigations if not done;

1) Electromyography (EMG)

2) Nerve conduction velocity study.

This may be neuropathy which may be diagnosed by the above.

The other investigations required to know the cause of neuropathy are;

1) blood glucose, glucose tolerance test and glycosylated hemoglobin

2) serum B12 level with methylmalonic acid (with or without homocysteine),

3) serum protein electrophoresis

4) Anti-nuclear antibody

5) Lyme testing

6) Rheumatoid factor

7) Sjogren's syndrome testing (Anti-Ro, Anti-La Antibodies)

Please feel free for your follow up questions.

I would be happy to assist you further, if you need any more information.

I believe all them were done and normal. Been ran thru the ringer nobody can figure me out. I go Thursday for a mra to check for a hip tear. I'm in tears all the time nobody will prescribe me anything I think they believe I'm lying. My whole life has changed over this! Could it be over tight muscles or something.
